The Bridge Academy and Community Center Receives $25,000 Grant from
The Foxwynd Foundation to Support Community WEALTH Initiative
Coatesville, PA – The Bridge Academy and Community Center is proud to announce it has been awarded a $25,000 grant from The Foxwynd Foundation. This generous grant will help fund The Bridge’s Community WEALTH Initiative, a comprehensive program designed to provide support for individuals and families facing challenges such as housing instability, food insecurity, and mental health needs.
The Community WEALTH Initiative (Wellness, Education, Autonomy, Leadership, Therapy, Health) provides vital resources to the Coatesville community, including food and household items, rental and utilities assistance, therapy, and financial literacy training. In addition to immediate interventions, the program emphasizes preventive care and leadership development to equip participants with the tools they need to thrive in difficult circumstances.
"The Bentley family is proud to support The Bridge Academy and their dedication to improving the lives of families in Coatesville," said Pamela Villagra, Executive Director of the Foxwynd Foundation. "By partnering on the Community WEALTH Initiative, we join together in providing critical resources and fostering personal and community development—essential pillars for positive and lasting change."
The Bridge serves as a lifeline for students, families, and individuals, offering a safe space and critical resources. The Community WEALTH Initiative provides support through client assistance (gift cards, rental and utility payments, medical co-pays), food security (fresh and frozen food, pantry items), and mental health resources (therapy and financial literacy training). Additionally, the program offers educational and career development opportunities through scholarships and workshops, leadership training for high school students and adults, and a Mom’s Club to support women in the community.
"Our Community WEALTH Initiative aims to bolster the self-esteem, agency, and self-worth of participants," said Jordan Crans, Executive Director of The Bridge Academy. "With this grant from The Foxwynd Foundation and the Bentley Family, we will continue to empower individuals and families, helping them overcome hardship and build stronger, more stable lives."
The Bridge Academy and Community Center’s mission is to equip youth and families with the tools necessary for academic achievement, life skills, creative expression, spiritual growth, and leadership. The organization continues to be a key resource for those in the Coatesville area, addressing both immediate needs and long-term growth through its programs.
