History
The idea for the Bridge Academy and Community Center was planted in 2001 by the founding directors, Steve and Stefanie Wilson.
In early 2002, with the help of Calvary Fellowship church (where they had attended at the time), the founding directors set up a separate 501(c)(3). During 2002, a Board of Directors was recruited and the search for a permanent location begun. God blessed our efforts through identifying a property at 570 Olive St. and enabling the Bridge to take occupancy in December. Anonymous donors purchased the building and have allowed the Bridge to use the space for the community center.
In 2008, Jordan Crans became the Executive Director of the Bridge. Now in its 18th year of operation, the Bridge serves families in the Coatesville area with free programming that seeks to serve families in a holistic sense. The Bridge is a faith based non-profit that provides academic services, creative arts and life skills classes, with an emphasis on spiritual growth. It focuses on genuine relationships and coming alongside families through life situations.
Each year the Bridge serves approximately 500 unique individuals, focusing mainly on school aged students. It also has a Mom's Club which meets regularly with women and younger children.
